Principal software developer/Tech Lead, Agent Framework - Observability @Elastic

Overview

The role involves leading the architecture and technical direction of the Agent Framework team at Elastic, focusing on the development of a scalable agent layer to support the Streams model.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate architecture for the agent layer, implementing technologies to enhance performance.
• Provide technical guidance to team members, foster a culture of learning, and conduct code reviews.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and collaborate with product management on feature prioritization.
• Facilitate collaboration across teams, identify project risks, and adjust plans based on priorities or feedback.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on systems-level software projects managing distributed deployments.
• Deep knowledge of observability data collection and relevant protocols (e.g., OTLP, Prometheus).
• Solid background in Go programming language.
• Experience designing management/control planes for distributed software.
• Track record of leading large technical initiatives from design to deployment.
• Strong written communication skills for creating design documents.
