Principal Software Engineer - Identity Graph @Twilio

Overview

Twilio is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Stytch to build an Identity Graph as part of the Fraud & Risk teams. This role focuses on shaping the technical direction of a foundational platform for real-time identity resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and system architecture for the Identity Graph, selecting the optimal technology stack.
• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance read models for real-time risk decisions.
• Build complex data pipelines optimized for dynamic events and data enrichment.
• Ensure privacy boundaries and secure PII handling from initiation.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to manage expectations and direct initial concepts into actionable plans.
• Collaborate across teams to align on architecture and unblock initiatives.
• Proactively address undefined problems and develop requirements.
• Establish production quality and resilience standards for the graph platform.
• Mentor and elevate the team's technical capabilities through collaboration.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in designing and operating high-scale distributed systems and complex data models.
• Deep expertise in production-grade code within modern programming languages.
• Experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams and owning system architecture.
• Ability to clarify ambiguous scenarios and drive concepts into an MVP.
• Strong commitment to mentorship and team collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills for managing stakeholder expectations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
