Data Governance Implementation Lead @Ferocia

Overview

The Data Governance Implementation Lead at Ferocia is responsible for bridging technology systems, data governance, business strategy, and risk management, particularly within Bendigo Bank's Digital Division. This hands-on role involves helping operationalize data governance responsibilities and ensuring the successful delivery of the division's strategic roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between data teams, senior leadership, and custodians, system owners, and subject matter experts to improve data governance practices.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops to establish a clear governance operating model.
• Define, map, and maintain data domains and sub-domains, and lead data asset profiling initiatives.
• Analyze, document, and understand end-to-end data lineage for Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
• Define requirements for Data Quality metrics including profiling rules and monitoring dashboards.
• Translate governance policies into technical specifications and evaluate existing systems for governance gaps.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data, analyst or engineering roles, ideally in banking.
• Sound understanding of data domains, CDE identification, metadata management, and data quality practices.
• Proficient in SQL for data profiling and analysis; experience with data modelling concepts and governance tools like Collibra.
• Exceptional communication skills with experience in translating technical concepts for executives.
• Tenacious problem-solving ability in complex data environments.
• Familiarity with relevant industry data and privacy regulations highly desirable.

Remote role, primarily onsite in Melbourne CBD. Position available for candidates based in Naarm/Melbourne and surrounding areas.
