Key Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives in Elasticsearch to produce a leading vector database offering.
• Contribute to building new search features and resolving bugs.
• Work with a globally distributed team on vector search capabilities.
• Become an expert on Elasticsearch’s vector similarity and support search relevance.
• Collaborate with community members on issues and pull requests.

Requirements

• Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases.
• Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Ability to work autonomously and guide projects from beginning to end.
• Comfortable with collaborative development and giving and receiving feedback.
• Experience with data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of using AI for development and optimizing code.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and transition between projects.
