Security Engineer, Institutional Trading @Blockchain

Overview

Blockchain is a rapidly growing global crypto company focused on connecting the world to the future of finance. The role involves working as a Security Engineer embedded with the Institutional Trading and Financial Operations (FinOps) team, focusing on ensuring secure operations of off-chain trading processes and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Trading, Middle Office, and Quant teams to map out trading systems and third-party integrations.
• Conduct assessments to identify structural vulnerabilities and draft strategic Risk Treatment Plans.
• Act as the primary security liaison for Senior Management and vendors, managing project lifecycles for security infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain monitoring for specific security signals and integrate them into SIEM/SOAR.
• Support secrets management to ensure secure key storage and prevent credential leakage.
• Assist in triage of security findings and document controls for risk summaries.
• Participate in incident exercises and document post-incident reviews.
• Research and implement AI utilities within the secure infrastructure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, platform security, or application security.
• Expertise in Threat Modeling and ability to perform structured reviews of data flows.
• Experience with SIEM and detection tooling.
• Practical experience with KMS/HSM and secrets management platforms.
• Ability to translate technical debt into business risk summaries.
• Programming skills in at least one language from the stack (TypeScript, Java/Kotlin, Python).
• Experience in third-party security integrations.

Location

This role is based in the Paris office with a mandatory in-office presence four days per week.
