    About the Role
    The Physician will provide primary, urgent, and emergency outpatient medical care services to U.S. Embassy staff and their eligible family members. The role also includes delivering occupational health services to all mission employees.

    You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients, determining when hospitalization or medical evacuation (medevac) is required, and coordinating appropriate care. The position plays a critical role in supporting the health and well-being of the entire mission community.

    In addition, the Physician will contribute to workplace health initiatives by advising leadership on policies, preventive care strategies, and overall staff wellness.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care (primary and emergency)
    • Conduct patient evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment
    • Manage referrals, hospitalization, and medical evacuations
    • Participate in after-hours on-call duties
    • Support occupational health services and workplace wellness initiatives
    • Advise management on health-related policies and staff well-being
    • Operate standard medical and basic laboratory equipment

    Required Qualifications

    • Medical Degree from an accredited institution
    • Completion of internship/residency/fellowship training
    • Minimum of three (3) years post-graduate clinical experience in primary care (Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine)
    • Valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine
    • NYSC Certificate or Exemption

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills
    • Ability to perform emergency procedures (e.g., CPR, intubation, IV insertion)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical information systems
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to adapt to diverse medical and cultural situations
    • High level of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality

    Additional Requirements

    • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
    • Willingness to undergo background checks and medical screening
