    JHPIEGO IS HIRING: MONITORING & EVALUATION ASSISTANT (TEMPORARY)

    Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is inviting applications for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to support ongoing health programmes in Kebbi State, Nigeria. This role offers a valuable opportunity for professionals passionate about data-driven decision-making and strengthening health systems.

    About the Role
    The M&E Assistant will support the UNICEF RMNCAH Quality of Care (QoC) Project, focusing on strategic information (SI), data management, and research implementation. The role involves working closely with the State Ministry of Health and health facility teams to improve data quality, reporting, and utilization for informed health programming.

    You will collaborate with the Senior Strategic Information Adviser (SIA), Nutrition Officers, Immunization Advisors, and other technical teams to support maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and routine immunization data systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support implementation of all M&E and data-related project activities
    • Conduct routine data quality assessments and provide feedback for improvement
    • Assist in data collection, collation, validation, and reporting across supported sites
    • Ensure timely reporting and data uploads on DHIS2 platforms
    • Build capacity of healthcare workers and M&E officers on data management and use
    • Support development of data visualization tools and reporting dashboards
    • Contribute to program evaluations, reporting, and documentation of lessons learned
    • Strengthen data use for decision-making through analysis and triangulation of multiple data sources
    • Assist in preparing Performance Monitoring Plans (PMPs) and other M&E deliverables

    Who Should Apply
    Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medical Sciences, Demography, Statistics, or a related field in the social sciences. Applicants must have at least four (4) years of post-NYSC experience in health-related strategic information systems, preferably within MNCH programmes.

    Required Skills & Experience

    • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as MS Excel, SPSS, SAS, Epi Info, or MS Access
    • Experience with DHIS2 and electronic health information systems
    • High attention to detail in data management and reporting
    • Proven ability to train and build capacity of health workers and stakeholders
    • Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented, multicultural environment
    • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable
