Overview
The Digital Twin Platform team at Instacart is on a mission to enhance grocery inventory intelligence through real-time data collection and integrations. The team is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to develop Android-native applications that support Connected Stores initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own Android applications for the Digital Twin Platform, including standalone scanning apps.
- Serve as a technical leader for Android development, establishing best practices and improving code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver Android solutions for real-time data collection.
- Adapt to a fast-moving environment, balancing long-term architectural thinking with agile development.
- Help define Android engineering practices for the Digital Twin Platform as needs evolve.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
- Deep expertise in Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and modern Android architecture patterns.
- Experience designing and building Android applications from the ground up.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced situations.
