Overview

The Digital Twin Platform team at Instacart is on a mission to enhance grocery inventory intelligence through real-time data collection and integrations. The team is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to develop Android-native applications that support Connected Stores initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own Android applications for the Digital Twin Platform, including standalone scanning apps.
• Serve as a technical leader for Android development, establishing best practices and improving code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver Android solutions for real-time data collection.
• Adapt to a fast-moving environment, balancing long-term architectural thinking with agile development.
• Help define Android engineering practices for the Digital Twin Platform as needs evolve.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
• Deep expertise in Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and modern Android architecture patterns.
• Experience designing and building Android applications from the ground up.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced situations.
