Senior Counsel, Commercial @Twilio

Overview

Twilio is seeking a Senior Counsel, Commercial to support its Go-to-Market Sales team. This remote role allows the candidate to manage full life-cycle negotiations of complex enterprise sales deals while providing practical legal advice to various internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the review, negotiation, drafting, and management of a wide range of legal agreements.
• Advise Twilio’s internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation.
• Ensure compliance with Twilio’s policies and applicable laws while championing the company’s mission and ethics.
• Work to understand customer contexts and internal client requests to solve problems effectively.
• Evaluate and prioritize legal matters based on urgency and importance.

Requirements

• J.D. with strong academic credentials and a successful track record as a lawyer.
• Member of the local State Bar or eligible for Registered In-House Counsel registration.
• 6+ years of commercial transactions experience, with at least 4 years in complex technology transactions (e.g., SaaS).
• Experience supporting a large sales organization.
• Ability to structure, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial contracts, including MSAs and NDAs.
• Proven ability to provide pragmatic and business-oriented legal advice.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-lawyers.
• Ability to manage a heavy workflow effectively.
