Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with finance, accounting, billing, and revenue teams to translate pain points into self-serve, reliable, and scalable data solutions.
• Mentor team members and advocate for engineering excellence across the organization.
• Manage initiatives from design through execution, taking ownership in a small team environment.
• Drive organization-wide initiatives to shape the financial data vision and roadmap.
• Own critical data integration pipelines and models for accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in a Data/Software Engineering role, focusing on data pipelines, especially in financial data.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Proficiency in data infrastructure technologies such as Python, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, Delta Lake.
• Expertise in data modeling, particularly for complex financial data.
• Skilled in SQL and dbt (Data Build Tool).
• Experience in building high-quality ETL/ELT pipelines for accounting or billing.
• Adept at communicating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive requirements and design datasets.
• Able to balance urgency with delivering high-quality solutions.

Benefits

Instacart offers highly competitive compensation and benefits. The base pay for this role ranges from $188,000 to $198,500 CAD, depending on location and experience. Additional compensation includes new hire equity grants and annual refresh grants.

Location

This is a remote role available only for candidates based in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia.
