Senior Engineering Manager, Enterprise Fulfillment @Instacart

Overview

The Fulfillment Services team at Instacart is responsible for building the picking technology platform that meets the needs of the world's largest retailers and millions of customers. The Senior Engineering Manager will lead the Enterprise Fulfillment engineering team and focus on the stability, scalability, and extensibility of the systems supporting the shopper app experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for the Enterprise Fulfillment team.
• Own the engineering roadmap and oversee technical and product decisions.
• Establish best practices for production services at an enterprise-grade standard.
• Lead, coach, and grow a team of 10+ engineers, promoting a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
• Drive recruiting and hiring efforts for top engineering talent.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management.
• Demonstrated ability to execute strategic engineering roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
• Experience as a hands-on technical leader with a background in senior or staff-equivalent roles.
• Strong record in staffing, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
