Key Responsibilities

• Building and operating core components of the next-generation Serverless Elasticsearch.
• Improving components that support concurrent and consistent indexing across multiple machines.
• Maintaining the cluster coordination system for high performance.
• Optimizing the number of shards, nodes, and data handling in Elasticsearch.
• Troubleshooting performance or concurrency issues and proposing solutions.
• Supporting the engineering team with complex problems.
• Managing operational investigations until issues are resolved.

Requirements

• Deep background in distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
• Strong skills in core Java and familiarity with the standard library data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Proficiency in algorithms and complex distributed systems.
• Able to build and debug features impacting multiple machines.
• Experience managing projects from design to execution.
• Proven ability to leverage AI for development and debugging.
