Overview

The Digital Twin Platform team at Instacart is focused on enhancing grocery inventory management by providing real-time insight into store shelves across North America. The team operates like a startup within a larger organization, driving the complete shelf data supply chain with innovative machine learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for real-time understanding of in-store inventory levels across thousands of retail locations.
• Oversee the full machine learning lifecycle, from problem framing and data exploration to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with software engineers, computer vision engineers, and data scientists to drive product innovation.
• Contribute to the core infrastructure of the Digital Twin Platform, including data ingestion systems.
• Help define the technical direction of an evolving modeling practice in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines and structured/unstructured data.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and ML platform tooling.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience.
