The company is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Economist to join their Economics team, where they will develop advanced systems that integrate economic theory with machine learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions for economic challenges in Instacart's marketplace.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to understand business needs and deliver impactful solutions.
• Advance operational efficiency by refining algorithms and models.
• Share learnings and best practices within the Economics team and across domains.

Requirements

• Graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in Economics or a closely related field.
• Blend of economic theory, applied econometrics, and business skills.
• Experience applying causal inference methodologies.
• Understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques.
• Strong programming skills in Python and data manipulation using SQL, Pandas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivation and strong sense of ownership.
• If applying for Senior Machine Learning Engineer I: 1-3 years of industry experience, experience in productionizing machine learning models, and familiarity with cloud computing and ML infrastructure.
