    Overview

    Harvey is seeking an experienced public sector lawyer to join their legal team, focusing on building and leading the government and public sector legal function. The role involves driving efforts to establish relationships with government agencies and ensuring efficient execution of agreements with government customers and prime contractors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advise on public sector procurement processes and strategies for selling Harvey’s platform to government agencies.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate complex government contracts, AI SaaS agreements, and other technology-related agreements, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and specific agency requirements.
    • Provide contract lifecycle counsel including administration, performance issues, and compliance obligations in government contracting.
    • Develop training and resources for legal and cross-functional teams.

    The role presents opportunities to engage with various aspects of legal work as part of a growing company.

    Requirements

    • Law degree from an accredited law school.
    • Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction (California, New York, or DC preferred).
    • 7+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience.
    • Strong background in transactional law with experience in SaaS, technology, and IP licensing agreements, particularly concerning government contracts.
    • Experience in negotiating complex agreements with government entities.
    • Knowledge of government procurement regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
    • Ability to advise on go-to-market and procurement strategy for government and public sector sales.
    • Proactive, independent, and creative thinking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team-oriented with strong project management skills.
    • Bonus: Prior government service, experience with AI, and a focus on solving complex challenges in a collaborative environment.

    Benefits

    Compensation ranges from $210,300 to $300,000 USD.

    Location

    This role can be hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the office if based in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Dallas. Alternatively, it can be fully remote for applicants in other locations within the US, with a preference for Washington, DC.
