Overview

The role is for a Senior Software Engineer at Fivetran, focused on building data pipelines to enhance their product offerings. Fivetran aims to simplify and automate data movement and transformation across various systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Deeply learn about Fivetran to focus on relevant system improvements.
• Contribute to the development and planning of the roadmap.
• Collaborate with a core team and broader stakeholders.
• Work through the project lifecycle: requirements, design, prototype, implementation, review, release, and monitoring.
• Review and approve pull requests.
• Take ownership of the product and leverage skills for improvements.

Requirements

• Execution-oriented mindset and ability to balance innovation with practical implementations.
• Experience in designing and coding effective, intuitive systems and software.
• Familiarity with cloud services, network protocols, and relational databases.
• Keen understanding of complex structures, object orientation, and memory management techniques.

Bonus Skills

• Experience with data replication, ETL/ELT tools, and cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., AWS Cloud Formation, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Knowledge of DBMS internals.
• Familiarity with low-level concepts such as encoding and network communication internals.
• Experience with system-level programming.
