Senior Software Engineer @Twilio

Overview

The role involves joining Twilio as a Senior Software Engineer within the Commerce Platform Team, focusing on building and operating core billing platform services that manage the billing lifecycle and payment experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate new features and services.
• Use knowledge of highly available and scalable distributed systems to build new features.
• Communicate solutions and understand team priorities and customer impact.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and enhance troubleshooting procedures and tools.
• Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Develop documentation to identify solutions.
• Write well-designed, testable code and maintain software functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience in building highly scalable products.
• 5+ years of programming experience in an object-oriented language (Java or similar) with clean code practices.
• Expert knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming.
• Experience contributing to system architecture and design.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
• Experience in delivering observability and improving warning systems (e.g., Grafana, DataDog, Prometheus).
• Experience in cloud solutions (AWS, Kubernetes/EKS), CI/CD pipelines, Testing & Automation.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
