Senior Software Engineer II, Marketing Enablement & Technology @Instacart

Overview

The Marketing Enablement & Technology (MET) team at Instacart is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership within the Paid Marketing technology space. This role involves driving the technical roadmap and enhancing team productivity while collaborating with Product and Marketing leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the team's technical roadmap and architectural decisions for reusable, scalable systems.
• Enhance developer productivity through process improvements and tooling development.
• Lead team-wide initiatives and collaborate with senior Product and Marketing leaders.
• Champion advanced observability, resilience, cost optimization, and security principles.
• Mentor engineers and help resolve conflicts to facilitate execution across teams.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience with expertise in technical roadmaps and architectural decisions.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and experience with scalable, high-throughput systems.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and influence product roadmap.
• Proven track record in enhancing team productivity and mentoring senior engineers.
• Excellent communication skills to navigate cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and best practices.
• Deep expertise in ad tech platforms and marketing technology.
• Experience with legacy system modernization efforts and managing technical debt.
• Ability to establish coding standards and architectural patterns.
