Overview

The role of Senior Software Engineer at Elastic involves joining the Integrations Team to develop how Elastic integrates within the AI ecosystem. This position focuses on building developer-facing surfaces, third-party integrations, and contributing to tools that enhance usability within the broader AI landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its underlying infrastructure, primarily using Go.
• Develop the platform for universal agent skills, including authoring and publishing tooling.
• Ensure the correctness of tools and skills through evaluations.
• Design and deliver integrations for third-party AI ecosystems, collaborating with product teams and partners.
• Enhance the Elastic CLI to improve developer efficiency.
• Develop and maintain libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack using languages like Go and Rust.
• Contribute product thinking informed by the development ecosystem.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend systems.
• Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and a working understanding of LLMs and relevant protocols.
• Significant experience with Go and familiarity with other programming languages.
• Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
• Ability to read and contribute to unfamiliar codebases.
• Strong focus on usability and developer experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work in a remote and globally distributed team.
