Overview

The Marketing Enablement & Technology (MET) team at Instacart focuses on building the systems, APIs, and data pipelines for Instacart's Paid Marketing channels. The Senior Software Engineer role involves architecting and scaling backend services and ETL processes to support marketing campaign execution, conversion tracking, and third-party integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete projects independently across backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Architect scalable, robust solutions for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive technical improvements and identify underlying problems.
• Partner with Marketing and Product stakeholders to influence features and requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience, with expertise in Python for scalable backend services.
• Proven track record of leading projects end-to-end, including architecture design and production rollout.
• Deep experience with data integration technologies (Snowflake, SQL) and orchestration tools (Airflow, DBT).
• Strong product thinking and excellent communication skills.
