Overview
The role involves working with the Observability organization within Elastic, specifically in the Streams program. The Managed Inputs team is responsible for building high-performing backend ingestion pipelines that collect telemetry across various environments and process this information for use in Kibana.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and maintain high-performing, scalable features, focusing on Managed Inputs and Managed Integrations across cloud providers.
- Take ownership of projects and features, leading them from concept to delivery.
- Provide engineering level support to escalated customer cases.
- Assist in pull request reviews, ensuring code quality and promoting best practices.
- Monitor alerts, build SLIs and SLOs, and ensure system stability.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
- Be on call for services owned by the team on a rotation basis.
Requirements
- Intermediate to Expert Go skills with strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, IaC (Terraform), and Kafka.
- At least Intermediate experience with Observability (tracing, metrics, logs, profiling).
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems.
- Commitment to learning and self-enablement.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and investigate system behavior.
- Experience with or interest in OpenTelemetry.
- Autonomous work ethic within a distributed team and effective communication skills.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools for feature development.
