Senior Software Engineer -Observability, Managed Inputs @Elastic

Overview

The role involves working as a Senior Software Engineer within the Observability organization at Elastic, focusing on building high-performing backend ingestion pipelines and processing telemetry data to enhance user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain scalable features within Managed Inputs and Managed Integrations.
• Take ownership of projects from concept to delivery.
• Provide engineering level support to escalated customer cases on a rotation basis.
• Mentor peers through pull request reviews and promote best practices within the team.
• Monitor alerts, build SLIs and SLOs to ensure system stability.
• Cultivate a collaborative team culture across timezones.
• Participate in on-call duties for services owned by the team.

Requirements

• Intermediate to Expert Go skills with strong analytical and debugging capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Kafka.
• Intermediate knowledge of Observability (tracing, metrics, logs, profiling).
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems.
• Positive attitude and curiosity with a commitment to learning.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and work independently in a global team.
• Experience or interest in OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools for accelerating feature development.
