    Overview

    Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables users to find answers in real-time using their data at scale. The Senior Software Engineer role within the Observability organization involves building high-performing backend ingestion pipelines for telemetry across diverse environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, implement, deploy, and maintain high-performing, scalable features within Managed Inputs and Managed Integrations across cloud providers.
    • Take ownership of projects and features from concept to delivery.
    • Provide engineering support for escalated customer cases on a rotation basis.
    • Mentor peers through pull request reviews to ensure code quality and promote best practices.
    • Monitor alerts, build SLIs and SLOs, and ensure system stability.
    • Cultivate a positive and collaborative team culture across time zones.
    • Be on call for services owned by the team (current rotation is 12h/day/week every 8-10 weeks).

    Requirements

    • Intermediate to Expert Go skills with strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting capabilities.
    • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Kafka.
    • Intermediate experience with Observability concepts (tracing, metrics, logs, profiling).
    • Strong understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems.
    • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and investigate unexpected system behaviors.
    • Independently work in a globally distributed team while collaborating with colleagues.
    • Experience or interest in OpenTelemetry.
    • Proven experience with AI-assisted development tools.
