Senior Software Engineer - Prism - Security @Elastic

Overview

The role involves working with the Prism team at Elastic to build systems that turn raw data into a trustworthy view of users, hosts, and services in a customer's environment. This position focuses on creating reliable and performant features that operate at scale, which are essential for security teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own small-to-medium projects from technical design through production, including data modeling, background tasks, and APIs.
• Optimize features for speed and reliability at scale, including profiling and optimizing queries.
• Write high-quality TypeScript and React code, along with Node.js services and APIs as necessary.
• Build telemetry, tests, and safeguards to ensure predictable system behavior in production.
• Review code and support teammates to improve team practices.
• Collaborate with various teams across Elastic Security, Kibana, Elasticsearch/ES|QL, and Support.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in building and maintaining production software.
• Deep knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript, particularly with React and Node.js.
• Successful leadership of projects from conception to deployment.
• Proven track record of using AI to enhance development and optimize code.
• Able to collaborate across functions and adapt to different projects based on business priorities.
• Strong communication skills for effective work in a distributed team.
