Overview

The Senior Software Engineer, Secure Build role at Docker focuses on building reliable and secure infrastructure for container builds and Continuous Integration (CI) using advanced technology. Docker is a remote-first team trusted by millions for building and sharing applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Turn developer, agent and security problems into clear requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Design, build, and operate Go services and APIs for Docker's secure-CI infrastructure.
• Develop capabilities for trusted build and test jobs including isolation and attestation.
• Work with technologies including containers, OCI, BuildKit, and cloud infrastructure.
• Own features from design to maintenance and ensure system reliability.
• Make security trade-offs and use threat modeling in design processes.
• Design workflows for developers and software agents.
• Communicate effectively and participate in team on-call duties.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with leadership on production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong backend engineering skills, especially with distributed systems in production.
• Production experience with Go and the ability to maintain Go services.
• Familiarity with containers and CI systems such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure.
• Knowledge of security boundaries and software supply-chain risks.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills suitable for remote work.
