Senior Software Engineer, Server Security @MongoDB

Overview

The role is for a Senior Software Engineer to join MongoDB's Server Security team, which is focused on building features that enable database users to secure their data globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and test new security features in a large, feature-rich C++ codebase.
• Work across engineering, cloud services, and support teams to coordinate feature rollouts and changes.
• Stand for code quality and security best practices, assisting fellow engineers in writing secure code.
• Use strong diagnostic intuition to solve technical issues related to distributed systems, concurrency, and OS internals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building distributed systems.
• Proficiency in a compiled language (C++, Rust, Go, Java, or similar).
• Ability to reason about design choices and their impact on distributed systems like MongoDB.
• Understanding of modern computer architecture and internals.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
• Excellent communication skills for synthesizing complex technical implications.
