Overview
The Senior Strategic Finance Manager at Instacart will lead finance strategy and decision-making for retailer partnerships. This role is critical in shaping financial strategies and driving portfolio-level decisions that impact Instacart’s revenue and margin.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop financial modeling standards for retailer partnerships, ensuring consistency across a high-volume pipeline.
- Define and operationalize Instacart's pricing philosophy and deal guardrails.
- Create and maintain partner- and portfolio-level P&Ls and forecasts with clear KPIs.
- Establish a scalable deal desk process and pricing architecture across the Retailer organization.
- Implement self-serve dashboards for quantifying tradeoffs and accelerating investment decisions.
- Develop a portfolio-level investment evaluation framework for confident decision-making.
- Enhance the capabilities of analysts and managers in the team through improved modeling rigor and ownership culture.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, or management consulting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience managing complex commercial agreements from initial scoping to post-close performance tracking.
- Negotiation experience with C-suite and VP-level executives.
- Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and unit economics.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex analyses to senior executives.
Benefits
Instacart offers competitive compensation and benefits, including a new hire equity grant and annual refresh grants. Specific base pay ranges for Canadian candidates are between $176,000 to $185,500 CAD.
Location
This is a remote position available only to candidates in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia, Canada.
