Software Engineer II, Backend @Brex

Overview

Brex is the intelligent finance platform that enables companies to spend smarter and move faster in more than 200 markets. The company is looking for a Software Engineer II, Backend to help develop new products from concept to launch, aimed at both startups and large enterprises.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers across the company to build new features and products end-to-end.
• Work alongside user-facing teams like Sales and Support to understand customers' needs.
• Design and implement solutions to improve customers' banking experiences.
• Own problems end-to-end, from user experience and data models to scalability, operability, and ongoing metrics.
• Tune and polish features to a high degree of excellence.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying full-stack applications.
• Experience architecting, developing, and testing client-side code end-to-end.
• A high bar for engineering standards and a willingness to learn.

Benefits

This role is in a hybrid environment requiring a minimum of three days in the office (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday), with the option for up to four weeks of fully remote work per year.

Location

Hybrid: Must be based in San Francisco, California, New York, or Seattle, with a minimum requirement for in-office days.
