Solutions Architect - Public Sector (SLED) @Databricks

Overview

The Solutions Architect - Public Sector at Databricks is a customer-facing role focused on leveraging the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform to solve business challenges for public sector clients. The role involves collaborating with sales and engineering teams to identify use cases, craft solutions, and guide implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can address their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers evaluating and adopting Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture and implement proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers.
• Promote Databricks-inspired open-source projects through community engagement.
• Travel to customers within the assigned region.

Requirements

• 6+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming with at least one of the following: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R.
• Experience supporting Public Sector clients.
• Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with data engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Experience with data warehousing (e.g., SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
