Overview

Fivetran seeks a Sr. Principal AI Systems Architect responsible for the architecture of their AI analyst system. This role is pivotal in making the AI analyst experience reliable and extensible, ensuring practical application over mere experimentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the architecture for the analyst AI stack covering prompts, tools, metadata, memory, and context strategies.
• Build abstractions and interfaces for product teams to add agent capabilities efficiently.
• Design retrieval and context strategies that optimize cost, latency, and quality.
• Establish evaluation loops and benchmark suites for systematic model improvement.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and domain experts to translate workflows into AI-assisted capabilities.
• Drive quality standards for correctness, trust, transparency, and failure handling in AI experiences.

Requirements

• Deep experience in building AI-enabled product systems.
• Strong software architecture skills, particularly with APIs, contracts, and orchestration.
• Practical knowledge of LLM prompting, tool use, and evaluation methods.
• Able to navigate backend engineering, product constraints, and user workflows.
• Good judgment on where flexibility and constraints are necessary in agent systems.
• Comfortable in ambiguous environments.
