Sr Software Engineer II - Ads Manager (Front End) @Instacart

Overview

The Ads Manager team at Instacart builds the core self-serve platform for brands, agencies, and retailers to create, manage, and optimize advertising campaigns. The Senior Frontend Engineer II will help modernize the frontend architecture and enhance complex campaign management and reporting interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical roadmap and architecture for Ads Manager’s web applications.
• Design, build, and maintain high-quality React UIs for campaign creation, management, and reporting.
• Define and evolve shared components and state management systems.
• Partner with backend teams on API and data contracts.
• Champion observability, performance, and reliability for Ads Manager.
• Drive modernization and technical debt reduction, including refactoring legacy frontend code.
• Embed security-by-design into frontend architecture.
• Mentor engineers and help resolve cross-team execution issues.
• Define the use of AI-assisted development tools for the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building modern web applications with ownership of complex user-facing products.
• Deep expertise in Node.js and React, including hooks and performance tuning.
• Strong skills in frontend architecture, modularization, and data handling.
• Experience with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Track record of leading large projects from design through operations.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
