Overview

1Password is seeking a Staff IT Engineer to join its Device Infrastructure Services team. This remote position is available to candidates located in the United States and Canada, and it involves leading the transition from traditional device management to a more DevOps and AI-enabled operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction of Device Infrastructure Services, ensuring compliance and security of ~2,000 endpoints.
• Drive the adoption of a DevOps operating model, including configuration-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and implement an AI-assisted operations strategy, focusing on automation and security.
• Act as the escalation point for high-severity endpoint incidents, providing deep diagnosis of systems.
• Collaborate across IT, Security, and product teams to deliver custom solutions.
• Assess new tooling and make decisions on building vs. buying solutions.
• Guide the team in the adoption of responsible AI practices, ensuring human oversight where necessary.
• Support the deployment of major OS updates across the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT and enterprise endpoint management experience, with 2+ years at a senior or staff level.
• Broad knowledge of endpoint management and deep operating system-level experience.
• Practical experience using AI tools in IT operations.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Terraform.
• Knowledge of enterprise security fundamentals, including encryption and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to define technical roadmaps and mentor engineering teams.
