The role of Staff Sales Engineer involves combining technical aptitude with exceptional communication skills to assist enterprise merchants in designing and implementing scalable solutions on the Affirm platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert on Affirm’s integration solutions, articulating the technical capabilities to merchants.
• Architect solutions that address customer challenges, including complex integrations and customizations.
• Build trust with technical counterparts and foster long-term relationships with enterprise merchants.
• Partner with sales and engineering teams to drive opportunities for large customers.
• Provide actionable insights as the voice of the customer to influence product development.
• Create best practices and training materials for market efficiency.
• Support sales with technical input, forecasting, and identification of risks.
• Develop pre-sales materials and custom demos as required.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in business/technology, or equivalent technical account management experience.
• 6+ years in Sales Engineering or related roles focusing on solution architecture.
• 3+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or closely related industry.
• Strong technical acumen in API integrations and enterprise architectures.
• Experience managing multiple assignments with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with e-commerce, payment solutions, and checkout processes.
• Keen technical mind, comfortable writing scripts in at least one programming language.
• Excellent communication skills and strong relationship-building abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
