Overview

Juniper Square is seeking a Staff Software Engineer who will act as a technical leader for the engineering team. The role involves setting technical direction, driving architectural decisions, and maintaining high engineering quality within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical direction and architecture for your domain’s systems from design through production.
• Lead technical design for ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives.
• Write production code as a hands-on contributor while overseeing end-to-end delivery of roadmap projects.
• Champion AI-native development practices and integrate them within the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and help establish coding standards and architectural documentation.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA teams to translate requirements into technical plans.
• Oversee monitoring and resolving production issues within your team's services.
• Grow into a subject-matter expert in your domain (Reporting, Fundraising, or Platform).

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software engineering with increasing leadership responsibilities.
• Deep expertise in at least one server-side language (Python preferred, others include Node/TS, Java, C++, C#).
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React preferred) and cloud-native systems using AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and service-oriented architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools and demonstrated AI fluency.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
