Staff Software Engineer, Ads Measurement Signal @Pinterest

Overview

Pinterest is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the backend architecture and implementation of a GenAI-powered Conversion Health agent to support a performant ads marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with internal downstream teams to understand workflows and build tailored solutions.
• Own the design and implementation of the Conversion GenAI agent, including services, data flows, and retrieval layers.
• Evolve existing GenAI Applications by improving retrieval quality and safety checks.
• Design connections between the sub-agent and downstream ads products, including APIs and workflows.
• Consolidate measurement context layers into high-quality, AI-consumable signals.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Sales, and other teams to translate measurement pain points into agent skills.
• Drive collaborative practices in a rapidly changing AI landscape to improve engineering velocity and measurement quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record of shipping GenAI- or ML-powered products end-to-end.
• Prior ads domain expertise, particularly in measurement and conversion tracking.
• Strong proficiency in product scoping, data analysis, and experimentation.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across teams.
• Experience enhancing engineers' skills in AI tooling and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Benefits

Salary range for this position is $177,185 — $364,795 USD, and it is also eligible for equity. More details on benefits can be found on the company’s PinFlex page.

Location

This role is hybrid and requires being in the Seattle office for in-person collaboration once per week.
