The Developer Experience team is responsible for creating backend systems and capabilities that enhance how developers understand, secure, and deliver software.
Key Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for major backend and developer experience initiatives.
- Turn ambiguous product or platform problems into clear plans and measurable outcomes.
- Design, build, and operate distributed services, event pipelines, and APIs with a focus on security and reliability.
- Lead cross-team delivery and address technical and organizational blockers.
- Make decisions regarding the evolution or replacement of existing components.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, and engineering teams to align technical investments with business outcomes.
- Enhance observability, incident readiness, and service ownership.
- Mentor senior engineers and promote reusable patterns within the team.
- Remain hands-on with implementation and debugging.
- Communicate decisions and trade-offs in a remote environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with leadership in production systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in designing, building, and operating production backend systems.
- Strong programming skills in at least one production language.
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Track record of leading complex initiatives across teams.
- Ability to influence decisions and improve engineering effectiveness.
- Comfort with AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills for a remote setting.
