Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran is on a mission to simplify data access, ensuring that customer data is ready to query without the need for engineering or maintenance. The company, in collaboration with dbt Labs, aims to help organizations unlock the value of their data by automating data movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery for dbt developer tools: dbt Studio, dbt VS Code extension, and CLI workspace runtime.
• Build the AI-native developer experience, including agent workflows and conversational analytics.
• Manage parts of the CLI workspace runtime and design agent-facing experiences.
• Lead projects from planning to completion in two-week increments.
• Share on-call and customer support for developed tools and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in building production software with a proven track record of senior-level project ownership.
• Deep knowledge of Python, with exposure to TypeScript and React.
• Experience building and maintaining tools that other developers rely on, such as IDEs or SDKs.
• Familiarity with operational aspects like APIs, Kubernetes, and observability.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience working asynchronously in a fully-remote team environment.
