Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack @Fivetran

Overview

Fivetran is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack to join their Reverse ETL product engineering team. The role involves integrating data activation capabilities into the Fivetran product through a hybrid work model, which includes two days in the Toronto office each week.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to all parts of the tech stack including Ruby on Rails, Typescript, Vue, and AWS.
• Prototype to test ideas before committing to building.
• Collaborate with product teams, leaders, and customers to design and develop features.
• Mentor early-career engineers and perform code reviews.
• Lead major projects, from research spikes to implementation planning.

Requirements

• Expertise in at least one interpreted language (e.g., Python, Ruby on Rails).
• Hands-on experience with at least one compiled language (e.g., C++, Kotlin, Scala, Java).
• Solid understanding of relational databases; experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake) is a bonus.
• Proven experience in system integration, including API consumption and development.
• Familiarity with leading cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience being on-call.
• Capability to work in ambiguous environments and directly with customers.
