Overview

The Staff Web Engineer at Harvey is responsible for leading the technical strategy and architecture of the web platform. The role involves enhancing web presence to align with the company's rapid product evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Harvey's web platform, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Design and build data foundations and integration patterns connecting the website to marketing and analytics systems.
• Establish automation, CI/CD, preview/deploy tooling, and robust automated testing.
• Set observability standards to catch and resolve issues proactively.
• Guide the application of AI and ML in web workflows and collaborate with Security and Infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small, front-end-focused team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Web Development experience with back-end and systems expertise.
• Strong command of React/Next.js, TypeScript, and a back-end language like Node or Python.
• Experience with headless CMS and content platforms such as Sanity or Contentful.
• Proven experience managing reliable production systems with CI/CD and observability tooling.
• Fluency with SQL/NoSQL databases and integrating AI/ML capabilities into web experiences.
• Ability to mentor and influence within a small team.
• Nice to have: Vercel platform experience, marketing/GTM systems integration, and SEO knowledge.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $146,600 to $201,500 USD.
