Tech Lead, Agent Framework - Observability @Elastic

Overview

The Tech Lead position for the Agent Framework team at Elastic involves owning the architecture and setting the technical direction for Elastic's agent layer, which supports the Streams model.

Key Responsibilities

• Design a scalable architecture for the agent layer and implement new technologies to improve performance.
• Conduct reviews of existing architecture and lead architectural discussions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members while promoting a culture of continuous learning.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features in collaboration with the product management team.
• Facilitate collaboration across teams and adjust project plans based on feedback and changing priorities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technical lead or principal engineer on agent or systems-level software projects at scale.
• Deep knowledge of observability data collection metrics, logs, traces, and associated protocols.
• Solid background in Go.
• Experience designing management and control planes for distributed software.
• Proven ability to lead large technical initiatives and transition between projects.
• Comfortable with the full arc of technical decision-making.
• Strong written communication skills for producing design documents and architectural decision records.
