Tech Lead /Sr. Principal Engineer (L6) @Twilio

Overview

Twilio is seeking a Tech Lead/Sr. Principal Engineer (L6) in Emerging Technologies. This remote role will focus on hands-on technical expertise, rapid prototyping, and developing innovative solutions as part of Twilio's incubation team.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Deliver: Design, develop, and own the end-to-end implementation of high-stakes prototypes and production-ready solutions.
• Spearhead AI R&D: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to experiment with and integrate AI and machine learning technologies.
• Champion Engineering Excellence: Establish governance for code reviews and mentor peers to improve overall code quality.
• Influence & Evangelize: Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders and engineering peers.
• Drive Agility: Adapt technical strategies in response to shifting requirements and user feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with front-end (React, Angular) and/or back-end (Node.js, Springboot) frameworks.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Mastery of an agentic coding operating model and advanced dev tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset.
• Exceptional ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems independently.
