    • Cyber Policy Portal
    • Artificial Intelligence Policy Portal

    Key Responsibilities

    The Graduate Professional will work under the supervision of designated programme officers and contribute to several core activities.

    Digital Tools Development and Maintenance

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting the development and enhancement of UNIDIR’s policy portals.
    • Assisting in the maintenance and updating of portal content.
    • Helping resolve technical issues affecting platform functionality.
    • Supporting improvements to user experience and accessibility.

    Research and Content Development

    The successful candidate will:

    • Draft official correspondence and programme-related materials.
    • Produce written content supporting research and outreach activities.
    • Develop concise and high-quality information products.
    • Prepare verbal and written briefings following meetings and events.

    Communications and Outreach

    The role also involves supporting visibility and engagement efforts through:

    • Creation of infographics and promotional materials.
    • Coordination with strategic communications teams.
    • Promotion of portal updates and resources.
    • Participation in conferences, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.

    Administrative and Coordination Support

    Additional responsibilities include:

    • Managing day-to-day programme activities.
    • Supporting coordination across teams.
    • Assisting with planning and organizational tasks.
    • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.

    Skills and Competencies Required

    • Have completed a graduate degree and begin the programme within two years of graduation.

    Preference will be given to candidates holding postgraduate qualifications in areas relevant to UNIDIR’s work, including:

    • Peace and Conflict Studies
    • Technology Policy

    Experience and Language Requirements

    While prior professional experience is not mandatory, candidates with demonstrated research experience and interest in emerging technologies will have an advantage.

    Language requirements include:

    Stipend and Working Arrangements

    Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend to support living expenses.

    Stipend rates include:

    • USD 750 per month for remote participation.
    • USD 1,500 per month for in-person participation in Geneva.

    Candidates choosing to work from Geneva will be responsible for:

    • Travel expenses
    • Visa arrangements
    • Accommodation costs
    • Health insurance coverage
    • Daily living expenses

    Those already receiving financial support from another institution may receive a stipend top-up to the programme maximum.
