Analyst II, Credit @Affirm

Overview

Affirm is a remote-first company that focuses on providing clear, predictable payment methods. The role of the Analyst II, Credit involves assessing financial risk related to credit, fraud, and identity for merchants, as well as coordinating with cross-functional teams on non-financial risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess brand, compliance, fraud, and financial risk; determine credit exposure risk on new and existing merchants.
• Use business credit reports, financial documents, and market data to conduct risk assessments of Affirm’s merchants.
• Investigate new sources of third-party data to assess merchant financial risk.
• Conduct ongoing monitoring of credit, fraud, and dispute/chargeback trends by merchants.
• Provide guidance towards the automation/improvements of merchant risk evaluation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in assessing merchant risk in relevant functions such as Merchant/Seller Risk Management, Fraud, Collections, or Merchant Underwriting.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners, particularly Sales and Business Development teams.
• Proficiency in reviewing financial documents, business credit reports, and payment processor statements.
• Ownership mentality with a sense of accountability, urgency, and execution.
