Director, Product Design - AI & Context @Figma

Overview

Figma is seeking an experienced Design Leader to oversee its Context Platform Pillar, which includes initiatives like Design Systems, Code, MCP, CMS, and Community. This role involves tackling strategic challenges and empowering teams to deliver high-quality work in a collaborative, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Hire, manage, and develop a multi-team design group spanning Design Systems, Code, MCP, CMS, and Community.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leads to improve team processes and coach individual teams.
• Develop a perspective on product areas and advocate for it across the organization.
• Lead critique, sprint, and design review practices across the pillar.
• Advance skills in people management in a supportive environment.
• Operate hands-on in both people management and strategy execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of design management experience, with a track record of managing managers and leading teams.
• Deep understanding of modern AI and design systems workflows.
• Strong expertise with Figma's tools and the ability to mentor design teams.
• Proven record of solving complex design challenges and driving outcomes.
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
