Overview
The role of Analytics Lead, Deposit Fraud Risk at Affirm involves leading fraud performance initiatives for depository products while working cross-functionally with teams such as Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Operations. This position is focused on improving identity verification and fraud processes to enhance customer experience and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Own fraud performance by monitoring fraud losses, approval rates, and key risk metrics.
- Build and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines.
- Define trusted fraud performance metrics and analytical datasets.
- Develop dashboards and monitoring frameworks for fraud performance visibility.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses for diagnosing fraud losses and control gaps.
- Develop and optimize fraud rules, policies, and decision strategies.
- Evaluate new data sources to improve detection of identity and transaction risks.
- Lead testing and performance measurement of fraud strategy changes.
- Partner with various teams to improve fraud strategies and support product launches.
Requirements
- 7+ years of analytics experience.
- Strong understanding of Affirm's products and a curiosity for improvement.
- Fluency in SQL and Python.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and influence collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment during peak fraud activity.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of payment processing fundamentals and industry risk trends.
