Key Responsibilities

• Own and grow a local territory by developing and executing an outbound sales strategy focusing on new revenue and category expansion.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline through consistent prospecting, networking, and market engagement.
• Identify, prioritize, and win new business with local and regional advertisers, managing the entire sales cycle from outreach to close.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in sales, particularly in the digital media/news industry, with a heavy emphasis on outbound/new business development.
• Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets through new logo acquisition.
• Strong presence and confidence in interfacing with senior decision-makers.
• Experience in developing territory or category-level sales strategies.
• Understanding of digital media, online marketing technology, and the competitive landscape.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead deal execution across teams.
• Existing relationships within local/regional advertiser and agency ecosystems are preferred.
• Highly motivated, resilient, and energized by prospecting and closing.
• Willingness to travel for in-market representation of Axios.
