Billing Operations Associate @Instacart

Overview

The Billing Operations Associate manages the end-to-end billing lifecycle across Instacart's retail partner portfolio, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely month-end close, and compliance with financial controls. This is a remote role available for candidates in Canada, specifically in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute monthly billing cycles accurately and on time, generating and delivering invoices via email and third-party portals.
• Process credit memos, debit memos, and refunds in accordance with approved requests.
• Build and maintain Oracle workbooks for new and amended contracts.
• Review commercial contracts to identify billing requirements and validate billing language with senior team members.
• Complete peer reviews of invoice calculations to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
• Respond to billing inquiries promptly, escalating complex disputes as necessary.
• Support audit requests and complete ad hoc projects accurately and on time.
• Follow established SOPs and internal controls for consistent and compliant billing operations.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, order-to-cash, or a similar role, preferably in a B2B tech, marketplace, or SaaS environment.
• Foundational understanding of invoicing processes, ERP workflows, and AR fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume workloads accurately.
• Expert proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel).
• Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM.
• Clear and professional communication skills with cross-functional working abilities.
• Self-starter who takes ownership and delivers on commitments.

Benefits

Instacart offers highly market-competitive compensation and benefits. The base pay range for this role is between $72,000 — $76,000 CAD, dependent on the candidate's permanent work location. Candidates may also be eligible for new hire equity grants and annual refresh grants.
