Data Engineer @WorkOS

Overview

WorkOS builds modern developer tools and APIs that help companies become Enterprise Ready. The Data team plays a central role in ensuring information and insights are accurate and available, owning the internal data platform end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, freshness, and scaling of the ingestion and orchestration pipelines that land source data in Snowflake.
• Design, build, and scale core dbt models for various business functions.
• Partner with Product, Finance, RevOps, and GTM to define and resolve data metrics and issues.
• Manage Snowflake RBAC, dynamic masking, and PII classification.
• Own the reverse-ETL layer and runbooks that deliver data to Salesforce, Slack, and internal agents.
• Extend semantic views and evaluations that allow agents to accurately answer business questions.
• Build and enhance CI/CD review gates in the data-platform monorepo.
• Manage the infrastructure that supports ingestion and orchestration.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in building and operating production data platforms.
• Deep experience with Snowflake, dbt, and an orchestrator like Prefect, Airflow, or Dagster.
• Experience with warehouse access governance and data quality management.
• Strong skills in SQL and Python, with disciplined engineering practices.
• Comfortable using LLMs and coding agents within development workflows.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into technical specifications.
• Strong data modeling judgment and understanding of schema evolution.
• A systems thinker capable of addressing correctness and failure modes.
