Overview

The Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) is inviting applications for the position of GLFx Chapter Africa Hub Officer under a full-time consultancy arrangement. This role supports the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and its Africa-focused initiatives, contributing to sustainable development, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience across the continent.

Key Responsibilities

Acting as the primary liaison for GLFx Africa chapters
Coordinating communication, meetings, and digital engagement
Designing and implementing community-building programs and activities
Supporting chapter participation in GLF events and initiatives
Leading the onboarding and integration of new chapters
Facilitating knowledge sharing and peer learning across the network
Coordinating regional and global event sessions, including workshops and conferences
Managing equitable allocation of opportunities such as grants, travel support, and training
Providing technical and administrative support to chapters
Collaborating with communications teams to amplify African stories and impact
Supporting strategy implementation and regional program development

Requirements

Education: University degree in sustainable development, conservation, agroecology, or related fields
Language Skills: Fluency in English and French (required)
Professional Experience:
- Experience working with community-based or grassroots initiatives
- Involvement in restoration, advocacy, or collective action projects
- Experience collaborating with international and local organizations
- Strong project coordination and partnership management skills
Technical Skills:
- Ability to produce high-quality written content
- Experience in reporting, communication, and stakeholder engagement
