Overview
The Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF) is seeking a qualified professional for the role of IKI Capacity Development and Stakeholder Engagements Coordinator. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to sustainable forestry, climate resilience, and ecosystem restoration initiatives across Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct capacity needs assessments for Native Tree Seed (NTS) systems.
- Identify gaps in seed facilities, testing, storage, sourcing, and collection.
- Review existing training programs to identify lessons and gaps.
- Develop training materials and technical resources.
- Coordinate delivery of capacity-building trainings.
- Support facility and institutional improvements.
- Contribute to curriculum development for Training of Trainers (ToT), Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and landscape restoration.
- Conduct training impact evaluations.
- Facilitate digital learning initiatives in collaboration with internal teams.
- Support communication and media engagement around training activities.
- Support stakeholder engagement processes.
- Build networks and communities of practice.
- Coordinate workshops and knowledge-sharing events.
- Facilitate collaboration between country teams and partners.
- Support cross-cutting activities with partner organizations.
- Enhance institutional and policy-level engagement.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
- Participate in organizational events and initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree (MSc) in Capacity Building, Stakeholder Engagement, or related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in capacity development and stakeholder engagement. Experience working with international organizations is an advantage.
- Core Skills: Strong facilitation, coordination, stakeholder engagement, communication, and organizational skills.
